So I have made a small prop bet on the Ryder Cup this weekend.
Lee Westwood over +2.5 points +113.
I made the bet on Wednesday along with a couple of others.
Now the tournament is underway and due to a storm on Friday the rest of the tournament has changed its format. They are now playing fourball and foursome matches at the same time. Which will allow for them to finish the tournament on Sunday.
But now my bet suffers. I figured that Lee Westwood was likely to play all 5 matches but now he will only play 4.
I only wagered a small amount, and I may still win this bet, but I am curious if a sports book would ever have to refund some people because the circumstances changed? Or is it up to the bettor to factor in the possibility of wild weather plus a change in format mid-tournament into his/her handicapping. That seems strange to me.
